Two weeks have gone by; things are better now with the family.

Today I had this relatively unhelpful presentation at school referred to as the 'junior conference', to discuss the preparation necessary for post-high school education. I say relatively unhelpful because my school knows as much about art schools as a car mechanic might know about a horse. Or if they do know an inkling of information they've decided not to
tell me. I know only one thing: I have to beast up my portfolio.

journal poetry! being emotional lately.

a somber funk drizzles in our minds
the memory of times when our muses were real

when our kites had strings
and our kettles had spouts
before better became worse

and just enough stopped being good enough.

second best, second rate.
pluses and minuses never mattered so much.

Suddenly, no one said anything –
but there was no silence.

meaningless vowels
and consonants dropped from listless lips like
yesterday’s shit.

everyone in dreary fog lost their foothold
and turned their pockets out,

suddenly disillusioned,
their feet in traction, black mud,

For the longest time

they went nowhere
in every place they could find,
and

the umbrellas just grew holes
in time for april showers.
